You Can Repost on Instagram
The social network Instagram will soon open for its users the function of reposting materials published by other participants.
Meta-owned social network Instagram has shared its plans for the near future: it has prepared a repost feature and is going to test it among selected users. A company representative explained that the developers were looking into introducing the option of posting other people's posts in the feed, like in Stories, to give users the opportunity to share the content they liked online and so that its authors could receive fair recognition.
A new "Repost" tab can be seen on the user's profile next to Tags, Video and Posts. It will probably contain all the posts that the user has ever shared on his page.
The innovation has not even been introduced yet, and it already has opponents. Social media experts fear that reposts will trigger an avalanche of posts from strangers in users' feeds. For example, Andrew Hutchinson, head of content at Social Media Today, sees the upcoming update as devastating for Instagram.
There is no direct way to post someone else's post on Instagram today. Therefore, some use special applications for this. After the introduction of the repost function, you will no longer need to look for roundabout ways.
