Twitter Expands Opportunities for Local Businesses

Professional pages on the platform will be able to provide extended details of their operation to attract local buyers.

The Twitter platform announced the expansion of the opportunities provided to business pages. The new tool called Location Spotlight is designed to help local businesses expand their exposure to potential buyers and reach additional audiences. This option, in addition to the already existing business capabilities of the platform, such as the Shop module, will expand the promotional capabilities of companies.

Thanks to the new tool, a store or service company will be able to specify details such as its location with the ability to get directions, opening hours, and contact details in a profile. Thus, the company will be able to create a kind of business card on Twitter, which will greatly facilitate the process of interaction with customers, primarily local ones.

In the initial period, a limited number of users will be able to use the features of Location Spotlight. The company indicates that these will be professional account holders in the US, Canada, the UK and Australia. Subsequently, the geography of the new instrument will be expanded.
