A specialized hinge mechanism anchors the screen on the latest MacBook Pro, eliminating display wobble during direct touch interaction and video calls. The updated chassis is lighter than earlier non-touch variants, bringing the 14-inch build down to 3.0 pounds (1.38 kg) and the 16-inch build to 4.0 pounds (1.82 kg). Instead of the usual display notch, the front panel now houses a Dynamic Island-style cutout. Physical connectivity covers three Thunderbolt 5 ports, an SDXC card reader, HDMI, MagSafe power, and an audio jack.

Equipped with the PROLED XDR Display, the laptop delivers up to 2,000 nits peak SDR and HDR brightness alongside a 10,000,000:1 contrast ratio. Processing capabilities stem from M5 Pro or M5 Max silicon, supporting up to 128 GB of unified memory, with storage configurations reaching up to 16 TB on M5 Max models. The entry-level 14-inch and 16-inch M5 Pro models are priced from $2,899 and $3,399, respectively.

External screen support varies by processor, enabling connection to three external displays on M5 Pro setups and up to four on M5 Max configurations. The laptop also integrates a six-speaker array featuring a refined woofer setup for enhanced sound output. This release marks Apple’s first touchscreen MacBook, nearly a decade after the Touch Bar was introduced and later removed.
