At CES 2026, Nvidia unveiled its new Rubin computing architecture, marking the next stage in the evolution of its AI platforms and set to replace Blackwell. The architecture is already in full-scale production, with broader deployment of Rubin-based systems planned for the second half of the year.

Rubin is designed to handle rapidly growing AI workloads, particularly large model training and inference tasks. Systems based on Rubin have already been reserved by nearly all leading cloud providers and Nvidia’s key AI partners, including OpenAI, Anthropic, and Amazon Web Services. The architecture will also serve as the foundation for next-generation supercomputers, such as HPE’s Blue Lion and the Doudna system at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.

The Rubin architecture consists of six interconnected chips. At its core is the Rubin GPU, complemented by the new Vera CPU, specifically developed for agentic AI scenarios. Nvidia has also upgraded NVLink interconnects and the BlueField network platform to reduce data transfer latency between compute nodes. According to Nvidia, Rubin delivers up to 3.5× faster model training and up to 5× higher inference performance compared with Blackwell, achieving up to 50 petaflops while significantly improving energy efficiency.

At CES 2026, Nvidia also announced several other key products. Alongside Rubin, the company introduced a new tier of memory for AI inference and context caching (Inference Context Memory Storage Platform), and the Alpamayo family of open models for “physical” AI and autonomous systems.
