OpenAI Releases ChatGPT for iOS
Since the triumphant appearance of ChatGPT at the end of November 2022, a huge number of users have already managed to experiment with it. Many today see it as a useful assistant: it intelligently answers various questions, writes poetry, composes letters, and you can also speak with it on almost any topic without leaving the browser.
On Thursday, May 18, the company OpenAI, which developed ChatGPT, presented a novelty – a version of the chatbot in the form of a mobile application for iOS. Such a transformation, according to its specialists, should make the well-known language model even more popular. The iPhone application differs from the usual browser version of the chatbot by the ability to respond to human voice commands, following the example of the virtual assistant Alexa (Amazon) or Siri (Apple). True, the application does not give answers by voice, but generates them in text format.
The OpenAI Lab's official blog says that the ChatGPT application is the product of its work to transform artificial intelligence into "useful tools that expand human capabilities." The developers did not ignore the owners of devices on the Android system. The postscript says they'll get their chatbot on their smartphone next.
By making generative AI available to the billions of iPhone users, OpenAI significantly improves its position among competitors such as Microsoft and Google. By the way, the latter have already released similar chatbots and started integrating generative language models into their online services.
