The company Meta recently introduced a new version of its artificial intelligence called Llama 3.1. A lot of time and money was invested in the development of this model. In total, it took several months and hundreds of millions of dollars. Meta officials said their Llama 3.1 outperforms other leading neural networks, including OpenAI's GPT-4 and Anthropic's Claude 3.5 Sonnet. The CEO of the company, Mark Zuckerberg, noted that the new model will compete with OpenAI and Google products in the areas of general knowledge, mathematical problems, and language translations.

The main feature of Llama 3.1 is its open source, which allows developers to customize the model according to their needs. The model received more than 405 billion parameters. It was trained using 16,000 of the world's fastest H100 GPUs from Nvidia. Llama 3.1, which is mainly used for creating and improving chatbots, has many new features, in particular, more developed logical thinking for solving complex mathematical problems and the ability to quickly summarize texts. Thanks to its implementation in the Meta AI chatbot, it acquired innovative functions. One of them is Imagine Me, which allows users to generate images based on text prompts by inserting their faces into the generated images. It is expected to become a hit on social media.

Despite the significant development costs, Meta has made Llama 3.1 available to large companies under a license agreement. Mark Zuckerberg expects the release of Llama 3.1 to be a landmark event in the industry and promote the wider use of open models among developers. The company is already actively working on future strategic partnerships with technology leaders such as Microsoft, Amazon, Google, and Nvidia.
