Google Introduces Retail Search
Visitors to online shopping sites will be able to get more relevant results directly on the page of the e-commerce establishment itself.
Google is launching a new tool designed to improve the search experience on e-commerce sites. The Retail Search feature set, provided on the Google Cloud platform, will make it possible for online store owners to customize searches on their site with their own domain with all the advantages and capabilities of the Google search engine. Merchants will be able to customize the search by a variety of parameters, controlling what the site visitor sees in the end.
The search giant's technologies provide more than just a mechanical search inside the store's website. It is assumed that the search engine is configured to understand the context of the query and take into account the intent of the user. It is also reported that the system based on artificial intelligence technologies will be able to offer website visitors relevant recommendations for the selection of goods even if the request is made incorrectly or too generalized.
The introduction of Retail Search on the store website will provide an opportunity to improve the functionality of the resource. In turn, improving search results will help reduce the number of abandonment of purchases due to negative experience on the site, as well as stimulate sales for the store.
