Facebook Expands Marketplace AI Tools
Facebook Marketplace is introducing a new set of Meta AI-powered features aimed at making selling easier and more efficient. The updates include faster listing creation, automated replies to buyers, expanded shipping options, and additional seller profile information.
One of the major additions focuses on listing creation. After a seller uploads a product image, Meta AI can generate a draft listing, add key details, and recommend a price based on similar items available in the local area. This helps reduce the time needed to prepare listings manually.
The platform is also expanding delivery options. Sellers can now enable shipping for their items, generate prepaid shipping labels, and monitor orders through a dedicated dashboard.
Another update improves transparency for buyers. Marketplace will now display a short summary of a seller’s Facebook profile directly on their Marketplace page. The overview includes information such as how long the account has existed, the number of friends, listing activity, types of items sold, and seller ratings.
Meta is also introducing AI-assisted responses to buyer inquiries. Since sellers often receive repeated questions, the system can automatically draft replies using details from the listing, including description, availability, pickup location, and price. Sellers can enable and edit these suggested responses during the listing setup.
New Meta AI features enhance Facebook Marketplace’s capabilities. They build on the set of existing tools that help buyers ask relevant questions and analyze listing information.
