The AI Chatbot Bard can now Answer Questions about YouTube Videos
The AI chatbot Bard, developed by Google, received a special plugin integrating it with the popular video hosting platform YouTube. Information about this update has already been published on the official page of this service. It states that Bard can now analyze any video and provide answers to user queries concerning its content. For example, if you've found several video recipes for making a pie and want to choose the one that uses the least number of eggs, you won't have to rewatch each clip. Bard will do this for you and immediately deliver the requested result. Large language models (LLMs) generate responses by gathering information from the YouTube platform and the internet in general. Interestingly, users can ask the chatbot questions about the video they are interested in right in the process of viewing it. The dialogue with artificial intelligence also occurs during the video playback.
Some link the appearance of this new feature to Google's opening of access to Bard for teenagers in many countries around the world. In the official blog, corporate representatives noted that their chatbot can become a useful tool for them, helping to find a source of inspiration, get an additional dose of motivation in the process of implementing plans or ideas, and delve deeper into the topic being studied, from completing homework on a school subject to preparing for admission to a higher education institution and applying for the first job.
The new feature significantly expands the capabilities of Bard. It can be used directly in the browser version of the chatbot. However, those who have already tried it note that currently it is available exclusively for testers of new features in the Labs project, participating in the Google program, and is still working with interruptions.
