Conversion Rate
Conversion Rate (CR) - this term refers to the percentage ratio between the total number of visitors and the targeted actions they have completed.
This can be, for example, visitors to an online store or a marketing event. Or the ratio of the number of views of advertising offers and the number of users who are interested in it. Or the ratio of site traffic and the number of registrations. In other words, it all depends on the area in which the metric is used. But, in any case, the higher this indicator, the better.
The conversion rate for a certain period of time is measured as a percentage and is calculated using the formula:
Instead of the number of actions, there can be, for example, the number of purchases. Or the number of registrations.
- Automate the work of an online store or landing
- Empower through integration
- Don't spend money on programmers and integrators
- Save time by automating routine tasks
So, if 500 people visited the website of an online store, of which 20 made an order, the conversion rate would be 20/500*100=4%. Usually CR in sales is about 2% and rarely exceeds 5%.
The Conversion Rate metric is considered one of the most important in marketing. It clearly demonstrates how effective the measures taken by marketers are. If the CR is too low, then appropriate action should be taken. And here everything is situational - it can be improving the site, making changes to the advertising campaign, introducing bonus programs, etc.
