Adobe Corporation will soon make the largest purchase in its history – an agreement has already been reached for its acquisition of the Figma graphics editor.

Adobe Systems Inc. (known for its products Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, Lightroom), has announced on its official website that it has acquired Figma. A record $20 billion will be given for it, part of the amount in shares. The deal should take place as early as 2023, after prior approval from the authorities.

Bloomberg noted that this operation claims to be the largest merger of IT companies in history. True, analysts believe that the cost is prohibitively high. According to Jefferies employee Brent Till, $20 billion is 50 times Figma's expected 2022 revenue.

Dylan Field, co-founder of Figma, stressed that Adobe plans to leave Figma autonomous, and he will continue to serve as the head of this company. At the same time, Adobe representatives said they plan to integrate their functionality related to image and illustration processing, photo and video, 3D graphics and fonts into the Figma editor. In this regard, Field said: "We have a great chance to accelerate the development of Figma, taking advantage of the experience, capabilities and technologies that Adobe has."

For reference: Figma Corporation was founded by Dylan Field and Evan Wallace in 2012. Its office is located in San Francisco, California, USA. In 2015, it presented a program that makes it possible to work in it collectively online.
