PaaS (Platform as a Service) is a service model in which companies receive a platform from a provider to develop, manage and maintain various types of software.

Thanks to this, they use ready-made modules, rather than creating them from scratch. PaaS includes a full range of technical and software infrastructure: a single integrated environment for the development of programs and applications, as well as their updates, support and other activities.

The most popular among them are Microsoft Azure, Oracle, Amazon Web Services (AWS Elastic), Jelastic, Heroku, as well as Red Hat OpenShift and IBM Bluemix.
