Walmart is Developing AI Tools for Organizing Parties
After releasing an enterprise tool powered by generative AI in late summer, retailer Walmart decided to offer the benefits of the new technology to its customers. The retail giant began developing a smart buyer's assistant that would accompany them at every stage, from searching for and selecting the right product to purchasing. It is planned that it will have three main “roles” for now: a shopping assistant, a search engine, and an interior designer.
The buyer's assistant, which should be available in the next few weeks, will provide the company's customers with more interactivity. It will provide answers to questions, detailed information about a specific product, and also draw up individual commercial offers. For example, the service will share ideas for costumes that can be worn to a rock'n'roll themed party and will tell parents which smartphone is best for their son or daughter.
Generative AI has given Walmart's search engine an understanding of context and the ability to return an entire selection of products based on a given query. For example, a client wants to organize a Star Wars themed birthday party. Artificial intelligence will respond with a wide range of products corresponding to this topic: dishes, napkins, decorative elements, costumes, accessories, etc. Instead of entering each of the listed requests separately, the client, taking advantage of the new product, will enter only one.
An interior design assistant will help Walmart customers determine their style and select pieces of furniture, textiles, and decor that match it. In addition to artificial intelligence, the developers equipped it with AR technology.
