Pinterest Adds In-app Purchases
From more convenient in-app checkout to personalized recommendations for shoppers, the platform is taking significant steps towards improving the online shopping experience.
Most social media are now making the move towards e-commerce, and Pinterest is no exception. The company announced that it will provide customers with a number of additional features that will help significantly improve their online shopping experience.
The main of these innovations is the introduction of the option to make purchases without having to leave the Pinterest app. This option is in the testing period and is not yet available for all product and store offerings (in particular, some US stores on the Shopify platform can use it), but its implementation is a significant step in the transformation of Pinterest into a full-fledged e-commerce platform.
The company also announces the addition of a new page that will be available to users in the Pinterest Presents section. The tab is called Your Shop and it will collect personalized offers from brands and stores. The content of the page will be formed based on the user's activity in order to take into account his preferences as much as possible and select the best offers. This option is also currently in beta testing.
