Dropbox Introduced A Service For The Sale Of Digital Content
A platform that allows merchants to offer digital goods directly to buyers is already available in open beta.
Dropbox announced the launch of a digital content trading platform in beta version. The service is called Dropbox Shop and with its help sellers can directly sell content to buyers and accept payments. During the beta testing phase, the company will not take a commission from transactions conducted by merchants.
The platform was launched in a private version back in 2021. Its main function is the ability to create lists of digital goods for sale. At the same time, the goods themselves can be stored directly in Dropbox. Merchants can set images for each item in the listing, customize the ability to preview video or listen to audio, and set a price for each item.
Among the innovations announced by the company in the operation of the Dropbox Shop is the ability to tip content creators. Merchants also have the option to create and customize the appearance of a virtual storefront for their digital products and their store profile, as well as the ability to customize URLs and embed HTML codes if necessary. The link to the product automatically generated by Dropbox can then be added to websites, emails or social media posts.
