Medium is a social journalism blogging platform launched in 2012. It allows users to publish text content in various formats using a WYSIWYG interface with simple options. These include the choice of style (straight, italic, bold), adding links, three levels of headings, and other options. The Medium interface allows you to embed content from multiple platforms into your posts, including YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, Vine, GitHub, Vimeo, SoundCloud, and Rdio.
Once published, Medium posts can be viewed, reposted, and recommended by other users. The platform also supports collaborative work on text, allowing you to create posts in co-authorship, make edits and write comments on drafts. Posts in the Medium feed are sorted by topic, and the volume of posts is determined by counting the time they were read. The platform supports materials of various formats and volumes: short blog posts, long read articles, essays, photo stories, investigative journalism, etc.
Medium has its own developer portal ( https://developers.medium.com/ ) which is based on an open API. It allows you to integrate the platform with third-party sites, applications and systems in order to publish and manage content from external sources. The Medium API is based on the JSON format and supports the OAuth 2.0 authorization standard. In order to link their Medium account to third-party software, developers need to verify access with a token. The service provides several authentication methods: through self-issued tokens and browser-based authentication using the OAuth protocol. The second method is only suitable for existing integrations.
Thus, to set up Medium's API integration with external software on your own, you cannot do without at least basic knowledge of coding. Another option is to use the paid services of integrator programmers. Finally, you can save your time and money if you try the out-of-the-box integration from the no-code ApiX-Drive connector service. In its simple and clear web interface, you will be able to start the exchange of data between Medium and any sites, programs and applications in just a matter of minutes.
