The GoDaddy platform provides domain name registrar and website hosting services, as well as a number of other services: an e-commerce platform, an email client, a web design template database, an SSL certificate, and much more.
The open GoDaddy API allows developers to connect platform functionality with external sites, services and applications. Detailed information about it is available at the following link: https://developer.godaddy.com/ By setting up API integration, users can register, pay for and manage domains, as well as use other platform features through third-party software.
First of all, you need to get API keys to authenticate and authorize requests. The first API key received by the developer will be a test one, it is intended for integration with the OTE environment. To use GoDaddy paid services through API integration (for example, buying a domain), a Good as Gold account is required to enable transactions. At the same time, the GoDaddy API does not provide payment gateway services, so you need to connect it from the outside in order to make payments.
There are two formats available for GoDaddy users to use API integration with external software. The first of these is called Self-Service (self-service), it involves authentication and performing operations in your own account, while you can ignore links to subaccounts. The second format is called Reseller (intermediary), it supports trust management of other people's accounts and requires the creation of a subaccount to represent the end user in API requests.
Each communication endpoint maintains a certain limit on the number of requests that can be sent by external software via API integration. In the case of the GoDaddy API, this limit is 60 requests per minute. If this limit is exceeded, all subsequent requests will be rejected by the API, after which an error notification with HTTP code 429 will be returned to the site or application.
Self-integration of external software with the GoDaddy platform through the API will only be possible for experienced developers, as it requires knowledge and coding skills. If you do not want to learn programming or pay large sums to integrators, then the ApiX-Drive no-code service is always available at your service.
